Thomas More recently hosted an inspiring Student Repair Café, where students, professors, and researchers teamed up to breathe new life into broken devices. The event welcomed students, staff, and visitors alike for a day centred around sustainability, skill-sharing, and community connection.
students embraced the opportunity to contribute meaningfully. Visitors praised not only the practical results but also the enthusiastic energy of the repairers. Many shared stories of beloved items getting a new lease on life, thanks to the dedication of the volunteers.
Out of the 50 devices brought in, 33 were repaired on the spot. Just five proved beyond rescue, while the remaining items required spare parts. For those, repairers offered clear advice on what was needed and how to continue the repair process at home or elsewhere.
More than just a repair event, it was a celebration of learning, sustainability, and community-driven action.
