E6 project partners Vites and Maakbaar Leuven are setting ambitious goals for the future of Re-use, Repair, and Refurbish. Their vision for the E6 project is clear: enhance cooperation, improve efficiency, increase the collection of electronic and electrical equipment (EEE), expand repair hubs, and train more repairers.

During a recent meeting in Leuven with Saxion, the lead partner of the E6 project, the two organisations outlined their approach, sharing their strategies, processes, and solutions as part of their ecosystem plan. Seeing the volume of EEE already collected at Vites, alongside the efforts of small repair shops and the passionate repairers of Maakbaar Leuven, highlights both the scale of the challenge and the potential impact of their work.

Joining the discussions was Thomas More, E6 project partner and work package lead, who provided insights into the tools that will be (re)developed for the project. These tools will be tested in various pilot initiatives, offering partners practical resources to drive forward their activities.

Further expertise came from Repair&Share, another E6 partner, which provided valuable perspectives on the opportunities and limitations presented by European and Belgian policy frameworks. This input will help refine the project’s direction and ensure its alignment with broader regulatory and funding landscapes.

With these insights and strengthened partnerships, the next steps towards achieving these ambitions will be taken soon. The E6 project continues to build momentum, fostering collaboration and innovation in Re-use, Repair, and Refurbish efforts across North-West Europe.
