Repair & Share, on behalf of the E6 partnership, has submitted a joint position paper to the European Commission in response to the proposed Circular Economy Act. Delivered through the Commission’s Feedback Platform, the paper sets out why Europe must move beyond recycling and place repair, reuse and refurbishment (RRR) at the heart of future circular policies. The full position paper is available to read here.
The E6 position emphasises that while recycling remains important, it should no longer be the primary focus of circular economy strategies. Giving greater prominence to RRR can reduce resource use, support local employment, and foster more resilient and sustainable consumption patterns. The contribution outlines practical measures to help overcome current barriers and unlock the full potential of RRR across Europe.
Thank you to all partners who provided input and helped shape this balanced and constructive paper. It reflects a strong shared commitment to a more resource-efficient future where repair, reuse and refurbishment are standard practice.
